Safety tip of the month:  Children and Car safety

Child passenger safety serves as a reminder to make sure your child’s safety seat is properly installed.  Always read the instruction manual for the seat you purchase.  Each seat has specific instructions for proper installation.

Infants to one year or 20 pounds:  For best protection keep infants in the back seat in rear facing car seats as long as possible up to height and weight requirements.                                                www.nhtsa.gov

Protect your teen driver:

Car crashes are the leading cause of death for teens in the U.S.  CDC’s “Parents are the key” campaign can help you learn about the most dangerous driving situations for your teen driver and how to avoid them.  Visit the website at www.cdc.gov/parentsarethekey/
